Uniform | What to Bring

Uniform

Park Street has no compulsory school uniform, although our PE uniform has now been adopted as an optional uniform to be worn all day in school. This is comfortable and practical, and allows parents and children to be confident that children are suitably dressed for all school activities. It also removes the need for children to change for PE. The uniform items can be ordered from MAPAC.

If parents do not opt for their children to wear this uniform, there are many other similar items available in high street shops and supermarkets.

Children are expected to dress comfortably and appropriately for school – sensible shoes (not open-toed or slip-on), covered shoulders and plain T-shirts and sweatshirts without slogans or logos. Children should not wear party dresses, denim shorts, board shorts or other predominantly ‘fashion’ items.

Second-hand Uniform and PE Kit is regularly collected and resold by our PTA. Please see the PTA Page for further details.

Daily essentials:

  • Book bag
  • Water Bottle
  • Wellington Boots (can be kept on wellie racks at school)
  • Sun hat (summer)

PE essentials:

  • Drawstring Bag
  • Park Street Polo Shirt (or pale-blue or navy-blue equivalent)
  • Park Street Sweatshirt (or navy-blue equivalent)
  • Navy or Black Shorts
  • Plimsolls

In the interests of safety and security, we ask that our children do not wear jewellery. Children with pierced ears may wear simple studs, but these will need to be covered by tape or removed for PE.  Book bags and PE kit are available from our supplier MAPAC.

Valuables
Children should not bring money into school, unless requested by the school for a specific activity. If a child needs money for an after-school activity, it should be taken in a named envelope to the school office for safekeeping.

Electronic Items
Mobile phones and electronic games are not allowed in school. If a child needs either for use after school, they should be left in the school office for safekeeping.

In the current circumstances, please do not bring any additional stationery items, toys or equipment to school. This is to minimise any risks from Covid-19.
